The trees come down

I’m surprised that no one is on the blog. There is a helluva lot to talk about. Our loss to Yertle the overweight Turtle. Phantom face-masks and non-safety safety’s two yards into the end zone. But I digress, let us discuss the shape of things now after our win? against Colorado State.
Things seemed a little puzzling in the stadium when neato-Nate was put in for Riley. Not to mention the B.S. extra second to end the half where we lost one of our most important d-linemen, Big Rulon. Now Best is out due to being overworked of course, and we have neato-Nate starting at QB. Oh sure, Coach says that there is an open competition but make no mistake, until the neat one (neato-Nate) throws two interceptions and gets one returned for a touchdown (remember Michigan State) we’re stuck with #6 at the helm. I must be the only Cal fan starting to notice a trend with Coach: overwork the RB’s to injury, favor a lumbering one-trick pony who’s time is well overdue at QB rather than let a young extremely talented player find his groove, overlook recruitment of important d-linemen in favor of filling the stocks with QB’s, keep giving Conti a chance in our defensive backfield no matter how many huge plays he gives up, and continue to uninspire with the pregame “We need you to get loud……..real loud.” over the microtron. I’m not saying that Cal needs to sell themselves out and become a USC where football is king and to hell with the rest. That would never happen anyway, it’s the people’s republic of Berkeley. But couldn’t we get off our asses as fans and not settle for the bs mediocrity that comes with a 6-win season. I could give a crap if Todd Holmo only led the team to 2-win seasons. This is now and we will never get to the Rose Bowl if we keep the attitude “Oh well, we gave ’em a run for a little while didn’t we? Maybe we could play Ball State in the AAMCO/99 Cent Store Heritage Bowl down in Sinaloa next year. Pass the pinot and havarti please”.
I would have thrown in some more profanity in but what the hell, it looks like only two people read this anyways. One pissed off and very uneasy Cal fan still here and still rootin’. GO BEARS!
