Coverage map for Cal-Oregon

September 29, 2007 ABC coverage map

ABC has released its coverage map for Saturday. The match up with Oregon will only be shown on stations within the white section of the map. While this includes all of the west coast and more, it would have seemed fitting to have full national coverage (ABC’s national 5pm slot is taken by USC-Washington State) for such a high-profile game – ESPN calls it “one for the ages no matter where you live.”

  2. hello, thanks for the map
i have a question and i just cant find the answer
I live in new york and i am wondering if I can watch the game on ESPN/ESPN2 since they will be stationing in Org. for the college game day show. The ESPN website just so lame that the 330pm time slot shows ‘to be decided’. that’s BS to me. hope they will air the game for bears fans in the east coast, not interested in what lame second level rutgers football here.

  3. depends what cable service you have.
apparently on cablevision you can order the regional games on a pay-per-view basis (may be true for other cable system).

alternately .. the Cal alumni club in NY has arranged for most Cal games to be shown at MJ Armstong’s .. see link

  5. This is an interesting map, however it seems to be missing a couple of states, Alaska for example, I’m assuming we will be included with the west coast feed, however in the past this has not always been true, does anyone know the answer?

  6. Quickinak, if you look at the note in the bottom right hand corner of the map:

“Note: Hawaii and Alaska will receive California @ Oregon”

    Cheers.

  7. Well sometimes it sucks to live in Tennessee. I hope ESPN U will have the sense to show this. Otherwise I will be paying $25 extra on my satelite bill to direct TV next month for ESPN Game plan. I’m not going to miss this one.

  8. […] before I get to them, I’d like to extend a big golden bear claw to ESPN and thank them for deciding not to broadcast Cal-Oregon in primetime, keeping them in regional coverage and instead show USC-Washington. It figures that the biggest matchup of this week would be pushed […]

  9. I hear this game is going to be on ABC HD…if we are not located in the region it’s being played on the map, will it still be on ABC HD or will the Clemson G-Tech game (the region I’m in) be on the HD channel too?

  10. Damnit. My husband and I (and alot of other med students) are students in Boston but from the Yay Area and alumni of Cal.

Just wondering if you know what the coverage will be in New England. We watch some games on ABC, ESPN, and Versus but for this oh-so-important Cal-Oregon game we’re gonna nada out here.

    Thx dude and GO BEARS!

  11. I PROPOSE SOME CLASSY BEHAVIOR…. NO POSTING ON OREGON BLOGS

Hey everyone… I propose we don’t post on the Oregon blogs with gloating comments, trash talk etc… We don’t need any of that… they played hard and kept themselves in the game… they deserve our respect for hanging in there and actually scaring the #6 team in the nation… we won, but I was actually impressed by the “new” dixon… he really has changed.
